Bosphorus Ballroom Shorline
Istanbul | Turkey
2007
---
Beyoglu’s shoreline in Istanbul is an edge that cannot be accessed easily and acts as barrier that protects the urban environment and its users from the Bosphorus.
Various mapping techniques of Istanbul’s urban environment led to a socio-political site response that concluded in re-making Beyoglu’s maritime edge allowing infiltration of the bosphorus and integrating the water into the borders of the existing pedestrian circulation system therefore providing opportunity for engagement and experience.
The urban masterplan creates public space on the Bosphorus and a large concert hall/live venue Including recording studios and public bar cafe and lounge.
